TPAC Breakout: Video Metadata Cue Support Including Geolocation (WebVMT)

Hello,

I’m leading the development of Web Video Map Tracks (WebVMT) which is a format for synchronising geolocation metadata with video for the web. It's similar to WebVTT, but modified to address geolocation issues and their presentation on a digital map, and was presented at the Media Timed Events TF telecon in September: https://www.w3.org/2018/09/17-me-minutes.html <https://www.w3.org/2018/09/17-me-minutes.html>. Further details are available on the WebVMT website: http://webvmt.org <http://webvmt.org/> including some technical demos.

A breakout session entitled ‘Video Metadata Cue Support Including Geolocation (WebVMT)’ has been proposed at the TPAC Lyon meeting on Wednesday 24 October: https://www.w3.org/wiki/TPAC/2018/SessionIdeas#Video_Metadata_Cue_Support_Including_Geolocation_.28WebVMT.29 <https://www.w3.org/wiki/TPAC/2018/SessionIdeas#Video_Metadata_Cue_Support_Including_Geolocation_.28WebVMT.29> and I'd welcome constructive input from the Media Timed Events TF and other interested parties. There's also a GitHub issue at Spatial Data on the Web IG at https://github.com/w3c/sdw/issues/1064 <https://github.com/w3c/sdw/issues/1064> for comments.

I hope you'll be able to join us for the discussion in Lyon later this month, and look forward to hearing from you.

Many thanks.

Rob Smith
