   Query-UC2

Previous minutes

   Previous meeting minutes are approved

<glenndeen> Agenda add: Use Cane Template Discussion

Use case template

NiloM: Suggests changes to the use case template.

   <kaz> [9]Use Case wiki

      [9] https://www.w3.org/2011/webtv/wiki/GGIE_TF/UseCases

kaz: wiki system does have feature to track changes.
... perhaps we can assign a specific author and reviewer to
   each use case.

<inserted> [ fyi, the old use case template of the main IG had
   fields on "submitter" and "reviewer":
   [10]http://www.w3.org/2011/webtv/wiki/New_Ideas ]

     [10] http://www.w3.org/2011/webtv/wiki/New_Ideas

glenndeen: will think about the best way to manage updates to
wiki. Suggests we have a discussion on the mailing list.

kaz: maybe users can use different colors when making edits.

<NiloM> color is better than nothing. At least it would show
   what changed.

Viewing Use Cases

   <glenndeen>
   [11]https://www.w3.org/2011/webtv/wiki/GGIE_TF/UseCases#UC-1bis
   _Basic_Streamed_Content_Selection

     [11]
https://www.w3.org/2011/webtv/wiki/GGIE_TF/UseCases#UC-1bis_Basic_Streamed_Content_Selection

NiloM: Overview of Viewing Use Casesbis Basic Streamed Content
   Selection Use case.

NiloN: suggests this use case be the first use case.

glenndeen: suggests we need to add search capabilities to the
Gaps section of this use case.

glenndeen: We lack a standard way of searching for content.

NiloM: Will update the use case based on this mechanism.

glenndeen: We need use cases around discovery and EPG creation.
... Perhaps Andrew, Nilo and others can work on this??

BillRose: Is willing to help out with this use case.

   glenndeen: Overview of EIDR assignment.
... EIDR value is opaque - relationships require a query to
   registry.
... Suggests we invite EIDR folks to join the call to discuss
   our use cases.
... suggests we may be able to solve a problem with a level of
   indirection.

Query by URI Use Cases

   <glenndeen>
   [12]https://www.w3.org/2011/webtv/wiki/GGIE_TF/UseCases#Query_b
   y_URI_Use_Cases

     [12]
https://www.w3.org/2011/webtv/wiki/GGIE_TF/UseCases#Query_by_URI_Use_Cases

   <glenndeen> isan.org

Killroy: Suggests we look at ISAN (www.isan.org)

   <NiloM> ISAN?

   <NiloM> ok, www.isan.org worked.

   <kaz> scribenick: BillRose

GlennDeen discussed Use Case 2 - Query by content Id URI with
   delegated sub-namespace

   <glenndeen> andrew

Andrew noted the concept is similar to DNS heirachical
   Namespace today

Glenn noted that it is similar but not advocating implementing
   using DNS

GlennDeen: Would like to have discussion as to what such a
solution would do, how it might work using e.g. EIDR style ID.
... What gets returned to a query - trying to work across
multiple namespaces, not all might have same idea of what a
subdomain might look like, work like. Some may have all of the
info e.g. a web service that does not need to delegate. Others
   might not.

GlennDeen will start the discussion on the list.

Kilroy: " Searching for unknown content is the more interesting
UC. "Show me what I like" instead of "find "Title X""

Andrew: might want to find content you don't have permission to
so you might buy it. E.g. OnDemand, new services, etc.

Kilroy: Also search for technical details - formats, etc.

GlennDeen: Might have CDN with same title content from multiple
services even though it has different formats, licenses, etc.
Would like to see options. Ultraviolet supports this to some
   extent.

   <glenndeen> Alto

GlennDeen: Look into Alto Working Group
... Will be in Dallas at IETF and will try to set up Meet and
   Greet for anyone there
