Forwarding on request from Jon. As discussed during our call people are welcome and encouraged to provide comments on these bugs in bugzilla https://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/ ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Jon Piesing <Jon.Piesing@tpvision.com> Date: Wed, Apr 23, 2014 at 2:49 PM Subject: HTML5 bugs reported by HbbTV for information for the Web and TV IG To: Giuseppe Pascale <giuseppep@opera.com>, Daniel Davis <ddavis@w3.org> Dear Giuseppe, Daniel, In the Web and TV IG call last week, I agreed to provide a list of the HTML5 bugs reported by HbbTV. Here it is including some commentary on the status. 24161 - <track> short duration cues fail to reach the application ************************************************************************** (This was reported to WHATWG as https://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=24382). The proposed solution here is a work-around which doesn't actually solve the problem, particularly in the case of live TV where cues may be created a very short time before they are to be used. Please see comment 19 on the WHATWG issue for more information. 24859 Automatic Video and Audio Track Selection Based on User Preferences and Terminal Characteristics ****************************************************************************************************************************** (This was passed to WHATWG as https://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=24895.) The solution referenced in the WHATWG issue is OK for HbbTV. We hope it can get brought back into the W3C HTML spec which is what we reference. 24860 When can user agents honor the user preferences for automatic text track selection ********************************************************************************************************* The proposal from Silvia Pfeiffer at the end of comment #13 is OK for HbbTV. 24862 Disabling Subtitles Based on Users Changing Preferences in the UA *************************************************************************************** We agree that this is covered by #24860. 24863 Per-track metadata for video and audio tracks ************************************************************* HbbTV owes a response on this issue. 25427 Video element playback position and live content ***************************************************************** This is a brand new issue, just filed today. As I'm not on the Web and TV IG email list, can one of you please forward this. If you want to discuss these, I will need a reminder/invitation as I poll the archive of the Web and TV IG and may not pick up on agendas. Regards Jon Piesing Chair HbbTV Specification Working Group
