RE: [apis] Browsing video list in the UC8 Download and Go

Hi Sheau,

I do not intend to add any requirements about “download” and “playback”. I think that the existing requirement of “playback” already covered what you said, “downloading content to a Storage for playback purposes”. My intent is to clarify the requirement about a method of browsing content list on off-line storages. For examples, a user checks if the content already exists before downloading. The existing sentence “A method of accessing the storage medium to save the video ” implies browsing content list, but it should be clear.

Thank you.

Hi Tatsuya,
In the sentence you added to UC8, can you explain what you meant by the word "download"? Did you mean to say that UC8 involves downloading of content to a Storage for playback purposes, or do you mean the UC8 covers the server function by the Storage device to further file transfer the content to other downstream devices?

Hi Bin,

I edited the UC8. Actually, I just added one sentence as below;
§  Storage

    * A method of browsing the content list in offline storage for download and playback
Thank you.

Hi Tatsuya,

Thank you for suggestion. Do you have specific suggestion of more scenario and requirement? Feel free to edit this use case (wiki site) if you have some more specific scenario and requirement in mind.

Thank you
Bin

Hi,

In terms of the UC8 Download and Go [1], it is implied that the user browses the list of videos at downloding and playing. I would suggest to describe the user scenario and requrement.

The File API [2] would not be sufficent for a web application to browse videos on local filesystem storages. The File system API [3] may cover it, but there a concern about security and privacy. Anyway, I does not intend to discuss a solution.

Thank you.
