Dear Web&TV IG participants, As you will have read in Giuseppe's announcement earlier today, a number of new task forces are being created to take on the exciting work which we mapped during the recent meeting at TPAC. I would like to kick off the one which we called Content Metadata and Synchronization TF. It will aim to produce scenarios and technical requirements related to exposing media metadata to the web stack and synchronising media, events and interactions. The task force has its home page on the group's wiki: http://www.w3.org/2011/webtv/wiki/Metadata and I invite you to join. Among the next steps, let me suggest: * Could people interested in participating in this task force add their name to the list? * Can you review the section currently titled "Our approach"? As you can see in the current draft for that section, I suggest we start by gathering scenarios and use cases. We can start from a number of sources: the work done by the HNTF (see if there are any scenario with gaps in the metadata/sync area) and the presentations given at TPAC. Sheau, Jean-Claude and Geun-Hyung, maybe you could get that work started by extracting scenarios from your TPAC presentations? Obviously, we are aware that content metadata and synchronisation are technical solutions and we should be careful about considering reasonably broad scenarios before jumping to technical requirements. I expect some of our scenarios will influence the work done in other task forces, and vice versa. Any other thought? Let's get started. Best, Olivier
