My understanding of this TF work is not to create new standards/protocols in the area of emergency notification, but to review the existing ones and see if anything needs to be done to support such notifications in a web browsers. One of the outcome could also be: nothing needs to be done. My personal feeling on this is that notifications should not be handled at web application level but at a UA level (for end user notifications, I mean). So I don't think there is an impact on html5 or other presentation technologies. Anyway I welcome a broader discussion on this to make sure we didn't miss anything. /g On Tue, 04 Oct 2011 13:42:10 +0200, WRIGHT, STEVEN A <sw3588@att.com> wrote: > Related to point #4... > Emergency services often have national regulatory requirements. > Is the objective here to synthesise some common superset of requirements? > To identify new non-governmental use cases? > Something else ? > > My point is the national regulatory emergency requirements are a sort of > embedded base and so to propose some work in this area the group should > be clear in its charter how such work might relate to the existing > emergency broadcast services. > > __ > > Steven Wright, MBA, PhD. > Lead Member of Technical Staff > > AT&T Services Inc. > Architecture & Planning > 1057 Lenox Park Blvd NE, STE 4D28 > Atlanta, GA 30319 > P: 404.499.7030 > > sw3588@att.com > > att.com > > > > -----Original Message----- > From: public-web-and-tv-request@w3.org > [mailto:public-web-and-tv-request@w3.org] On Behalf Of Giuseppe Pascale > Sent: Tuesday, October 04, 2011 6:10 AM > To: public-web-and-tv@w3.org; Yosuke Funahashi > Cc: Masahito Kawamori; 이현재 Lee; Kazuyuki Ashimura; Kazuyuki Ashimura; > Francois Daoust > Subject: Re: Draft Charter of Emergency Information TF (was: Re: [DRAFT] > Disaster Prevention and Response TF charter > > Hi Yosuke, > thanks for updating the charter.
