Dear Colleagues, I though you might find the IPTV APIs of GEM inspirational for this. The overview page of the latest version is at http://www.mhp.org/mhpgem12.htm If you want to dive directly into the JavaDoc, download http://www.mhp.org/specs/GEM_1.2.2_JavaDoc.zip and look at the documentation of the org.dvb.service.sds org.dvb.service.selection org.dvb.service.navigation packages (in that order) for service discovery and selection. This should go into the direction of Bob Lund's initial request, but is higher level (more abstract). It hides details like UPnP etc. so is more akin to what Glenn Adams and MoMcRoberts were asking for. If my slides at the Berlin workshop yesterday got you curious on TV-Anytime ;) you might also want to check out the JavaDoc of the org.dvb.tvanytime.javatv org.dvb.tvanytime.resolution org.dvb.tvanytime.metadata org.dvb.tvanytime.metadata.ip packages (again in that order) for content guide information and CRID handling and resolution APIs. Since it's GEM these APIs are already part of OCAP, which should be to Bob Lund's liking I suppose? ;)) All the above has been designed for broadcast and BluRay, so the APIs might deserve some amendments for use on the Web. But I guess we're not the folks to jot down such an API proposal real quick...? ;) Hoping to have helped, --alexander adolf -- Condition-ALPHA Digital Broadcast Technology Consulting Alexander Adolf EMAIL alexander.adolf@me.com XMPP c-alpha@jabber.org WEB www.condition-alpha.com AIM alexander.adolf@me.com MOBILE +49 151 12722124 TWITTER @c_alpha TEL +49 89 52314163 GEO Gabelsbergerstrasse 60b UST-IDNR./VAT-ID DE268430335 80333 Munich / Germany PUBKEY 73BB 3B7B C0B5 5B1C 1B08 CD70 2C2C 4CF5 7BA0 0FEA
