RE: [BULK][web-adv] minutes and next meeting, 5 May

Hi Wendy and members,
In addition to the SPARROW explainer and the three use cases proposed by Lionel, I would find it helpful to set aside time for another important topic.

As we all agree that improving web advertising to fund the open web is the goal of this working group and the W3C, I think it would be helpful to also discuss some of the non-engineering related implications of each proposals under review against this goal. We started to touch on this subject last week.

I propose we add an agenda item to review the success criteria we should be applying when evaluating these use cases. If there is support, could this be scheduled for a future meeting?
Regards,

James

I agree with Alan - this is an interesting proposal, and would also like to discuss this during our next call.

    Hi Wendy and IWABG members,

We would like to add the following items to tomorrow's agenda:

    - A short presentation of the SPARROW proposal, the motivation for the proposal and the main technical characteristics. We'll be happy to take any questions https://github.com/BasileLeparmentier/SPARROW

    - Three Advertising Use Cases:
        - Browser vs server: ensuring smooth user experience during the ad selection, load and display.
        - Brand safety, i.e. for an advertiser ensuring that their ads are displayed on websites that fit their policies (e.g.: as an airline I don't want my ads to be displayed next to a news related to a plane accident).
        - Invalid traffic: how to detect and deal with fraudulent events (displays, clicks, conversions) generation.

Could you please add these to the agenda?

    Best regards,
    Lionel
