Hi Wendy, 1. CMA final report As you are aware, this past week, the UK CMA published their findings on how to level the playing field in digital advertising [1]. Given the importance of the new regulations to Improving Web Advertising, what would be the best way to discuss how best to adopt those regulations into the proposals we’re discussing? I propose two agenda items as questions for the group this week. 1. Would asking the CMA to present the final market study to the group be useful? 2. Can we schedule time to hear how the various proposal authors plan to address these regulations in their specifications? All participants in IWA BG agree that the scope of the group involves communicating such information. As such I would not expect anyone to object to these agenda items. 1. Success Criteria update In relation to the success criteria, I’m exploring how best to ensure proposal authors ensure their changes address the net benefits to people, businesses and society, given the significant number of participants to the W3C who support the need to consider these various stakeholder impacts when defining technology standards. I’m currently awaiting input from Aram, I have received some observations from Johnny, and have spoken with the Association of Online Publishing (AOP) to circulate among their members many of whom are not W3C direct participants. I expect to review the revised success criteria and questionnaire documents following this input ahead of the IWA BG meeting next week on 14th July.
