[WCAG2ICT] Minutes from the 7 November meeting

Hi all,

Thanks to those of you who attended today?s WCAG2ICT meeting.

Meeting summary: We completed a retrospective of Phase 1 of the work and learned some ways of improving the process in developing the next phase of WCAG2ICT. Then we started discussing Phase 2 of the work and potential updates to the work statement in support of that work. Questions were raised regarding whether we could change the scope of work to include recommendations on changes to normative language, techniques or how to meet the requirements (especially for Level A and AA), remove Level AAA, etc. I intend to take these questions to the AG Facilitator?s meeting on Monday.

Work item for everyone due by the next meeting:

  * Review the proposed changes to the work statement<https://github.com/w3c/wai-website/pull/942/files> which was intended to simply indicate what we?ve completed and add the explainer with a pointer to the outline, and also add a pointer to the planned schedule. If you have comments or additions, make specific suggested changes in the PR or send me an email and I can add your comment to the PR.

Minutes for 7 November can be found at: https://www.w3.org/2024/11/07-wcag2ict-minutes.html.

To tackle one of my work items from the meeting. The consensus process that all W3C groups follow is found in the Consensus Building<https://www.w3.org/policies/process/#consensus-building> section of the W3C Process Document. In the meeting, Sam specifically asked about ?formal objections<https://www.w3.org/policies/process/#registering-objections>?.

I also noted when reading this document that reopening previous decisions is also an aspect considered in this process document. A decision can be reopened when presented with new information<https://www.w3.org/policies/process/#WGChairReopen> or due to comments from participants who were unable to attend a scheduled meeting. I will need to be better at recording that the decision was reopened per a group participant?s request.

Best regards,
