Hi John, > Here is the proposed definition: >
>
Lower secondary education level

Typically, the > two- or three-year period of education that begins after > completion of six years of school and ends nine years after > the beginning of primary education, according to the > International Standard Classification of Education (UNESCO > 1997); in some countries the end of lower secondary education > coincides with the end of compulsory education.

Since I had some problems with the previous definition I thought I'd let you know that I like it. The part after the semicolon might be turned into a separate sentence to make it easier to read but it works for me as it is.
