Hi, L1SC1: I can help in i18n. I've got some experience about publish content in different languages/charset (italian, english, arabic, hebrew, chinese, ...) and I've test a lot about use of CSS and markup for bidirectional text. I suggest to refer here: http://www.w3.org/International/resource-index.html#bidi And invite eventually Richard Ishida in a future teleconference. L2SC1: In italian discussion forum some experts said that we should not mark single words but only phrases that are not in the natural language (or natural languages) of the document. I suggest to refer here: http://www.w3.org/TR/i18n-html-tech-lang And expecially, for multilanguage docs: http://www.w3.org/TR/i18n-html-tech-lang/#ri20040728.121940236 I think that we should use markup lang xml:lang attributes for let the UA to identify the language changes. -----Original Message----- From: public-wcag-teamb-request@w3.org [mailto:public-wcag-teamb-request@w3.org] On Behalf Of Wendy Chisholm Sent: Friday, September 09, 2005 7:39 PM To: public-wcag-teamb@w3.org Subject: minutes from yesterday, action items available at: <http://www.w3.org/2005/09/08-wcag-teamb-minutes.html> I'm in the process of updating the plan with action items. Please send proposals to the team b list by next Tuesday so that we can have some discussion before our Wednesday telecon. L2SC1 Lisa - propose a technique for using metadata to identify primary and secondary languages Wendy and Lisa - similar shared action item as to L1SC1 (check for accuracy, tech and test proposals, etc.) L3 SC1 Lisa and Bengt - generate list of references related to concept coding and metadata techniques to include in the Guide document resources Lisa and Wendy - propose tests for existing HTML techniques Lisa and Wendy - develop general technique for concept coding or just link to resources in guide? L3SC5 John and Bengt - review accuracy and completeness of all pieces, proposals for "missing information" (per templates), ensure "front loading document" is included in one of the general techniques (likely "smartening up, not dumbing down.") and that "spoken version of text not started automatically" included in "providing a spoken version," link to HTML techniques on multimedia (embed, object), or propose new ones, look for or propose tests for HTML techniques, propose HTML techniques for how to linkt o summaries and how to associate graphics with text? (lower priority), reference rdf/metadata techniques in guide. highest priority - filling out general techniques. Thank you, --wendy
