Hi Becky, Thanks again. This one gets close to crossing out of an example but since it only comments on itself (and doesn't make a more general statement) I think it is ok. Others agree? Or see a problem? Thanks for getting this one in. Gregg -- ------------------------------ Gregg C Vanderheiden Ph.D. Professor - Ind. Engr. & BioMed Engr. Director - Trace R & D Center University of Wisconsin-Madison -----Original Message----- From: w3c-wai-gl-request@w3.org [mailto:w3c-wai-gl-request@w3.org] On Behalf Of Becky Gibson Sent: Tuesday, January 03, 2006 12:55 PM To: WCAG Cc: public-wcag-teama@w3.org Subject: Tab panel example for SC 3.2.1 I took an action item [1] to add the tab panel example to the How to Meet document for success criterion 3.2.1. At the December 22, 2005 working group teleconference the group decided that my tab panel example [2] does not cause a complete change of context and is thus allowed under this success criterion. Example: A tab panel user interface is implemented within a delivery unit. The tab panel consists of 5 tabs, each with a different title and content. For example, US News, World News, Weather, Entertainment, and Humor. As the user navigates from tab to tab, the contents of the delivery unit are updated to reflect the selected tab. For example, when the user navigates to the Humor tab, A short account of an interesting or humorous incident is made visible in the tab panel, replacing the previous contents of the panel. This is the expected behavior of a tab panel user interface and since each tab is clearly labeled indicating the contents of the panel this behavior is allowed within this success criterion. If this example is accepted, issue #1792[3] can be closed. [1] Becky will add the tab panel example to the How to Meet document for 3.2.1 as an allowed behavior. Due 01/12/06.
