Videos project update

Hi Jade, Michele, Adina, and Denis,

I wanted to send an update to you about the WCAG Videos project prior to bringing it to the larger EO working group.

As you are aware, via email announcement and mentioned in the last meeting, our amazing editor and project lead is stepping down from his W3C role and taking a new, exciting direction with his career. Shadi will still be working with the W3C and EOWG into September and is still able to do some work after that until this project is closed towards the end of the year.

The planning team has discussed this shift in resources and is going to be bringing a proposal to the working group to consider. A quick summary of the proposal is to shift from making videos for each Success Criteria to making videos for the "How People with Disabilities Use the Web" resource. Of course they can be used in other places as appropriate.

Basically to make some high quality videos that can be used in the three subpages of the resource:
How People with Disabilities Use the Web<https://www.w3.org/WAI/people-use-web/tools-techniques/>

  *   Stories of Web Users<https://www.w3.org/WAI/people-use-web/user-stories/>
  *   Diverse Abilities and Barriers<https://www.w3.org/WAI/people-use-web/abilities-barriers/>
  *   Tools and Techniques<https://www.w3.org/WAI/people-use-web/tools-techniques/>

We are planning to discuss this proposal at the next EWOG meeting and find consensus or see if anyone has any serious concerns with this direction.

In preparation for the meeting discussion we hope that you can review these pages listed above so that when we talk about the types of videos and where they would be used, you will have an in-depth background of the resource. Please keep in mind, the User Stories section is also being reworked right now to be more succinct and easy to consume. Videos will also support this.

Thanks for reading and reviewing.
Talk to you all soon,
Brent
