RE: RDWG Chair

Hi Simon

I will be very sorry that RDWG will lose you as Chair, but very glad that you're staying on the group. We have all appreciated the incredible effort that you have put into the group, and I know that I personally have learned much.

I'm sorry I wasn't on the call when you announced this, but was travelling back from OZeWAI in Melbourne at the time. Hope to chat next week.

Please note that I check my emails at 9am and 4pm (or roughly). If you need me for something urgent between these hours, please feel free to message or phone me on my mobile, 0415 383 673.

Subject: RDWG Chair

Hi everyone,

If you were not on the telecon today, I just wanted to let you know that due to additional work commitments I wont be able to continue on as Chair of the RDWG; and so I've decided to step down.

I've really enjoyed my time as Chair and had previously been very vocal about getting the group started up again after the RDIG became dormant. Thanks to Shadi and Judy for allowing that to happen!

But, now it's time to hand over to other people and there will hopefully be 2 co-chairs to ease the administrative burden.

I feel proud of the work that we have accomplished so far and the eight or so symposia we have run. The most pressing work for my successors will be making sure the notes are now published, and by doing this I believe that more people be attracted to participate.

I still intend to participate as much as possible, so I wont be leaving, and you'll still see me about.

I also want to thank Shadi, and everyone in the RDWG for making my Chairing job such a smooth experience.

Next week's call will be my last as chair, we will then have a two week Christmas break and resume on Jan 07th; with hopefully new chairs.

Cheers
Si
