Pre-call for Mobile Symposium

How do you envision how a research paper would cover discussion
of #2 - How do existing WAI guidelines cover mobile accessibility? I
was looking at it imagining that I would speak on that topic, and didn't
see how it met the research abstract guidance (e.g. problem trying to
solve, how it was addressed). That topic seems more reporting on the
state of things -- important to the conference, but hard to follow the
template for submissions requirement for a problem statement.

I think the difficulty is the way the topic is phrased. It is the only
topic that is phrased as a question.

In brief, the following three topics will be the focus of this symposium:

     The technical challenges in terms of API, platform, browser, and
web content accessibility;
     How do existing WAI guidelines cover mobile accessibility issues
and what additional guidance, if any, is needed, such as techniques;
     New interaction models such as touch interfaces and their
accessibility.

I think if the topic were rephrased to something like:

"The coverage of mobile accessibility issues by existing WAI guidelines
and any additional guidance or support information needed. "

When I look at the question that way, I think "the problem is that we
don't know what guidance is available and where the gaps are."

Now, I think I could write a paper on THAT problem. :)
