WCAG 2.0 Evaluation Methodology Task Force

Dear Group,

As mentioned on one of the previous calls, W3C is working on a "W3C
Testing Infrastructure" to support testing for W3C specifications:

WAI Staff (primarily Michael Cooper and myself) are involved in this
work, to include testing for WAI guidelines and standards (WCAG, ATAG,
UAAG, and WAI-ARIA for now, other specs such as EARL may follow).

The tests for WCAG is a continuation of the previous work done by the
WCAG 2.0 Test Samples Task Force, also under ERT WG:
  - <http://www.w3.org/WAI/ER/tests/>

To accompany that work on testing, WAI also intends to work on an
"evaluation methodology" for WCAG 2.0, that defines an approach for
evaluating entire websites (selecting representative page samples,
determining accessibility support, and aggregating results).

Please find below a draft "Work Statement" for a new Task Force under
ERT WG, the "WCAG 2.0 Evaluation Methodology Task Force", for your
consideration; we will be discussing it more detail on upcoming calls:

Please don't hesitate if you have any questions or comments.

Best,
   Shadi
