Hi guys, first I want to thank you for the opportunity you gave me to work with you. I hope I can help this group somehow. As I said to Shadi, I am in a very *unstable* situation at the moment, as I am in the middle of moving to Australia (from Italy). Anyway, I am really interested in what Chris and the Toronto University (I guess) have been doing with the test suite. I am really happy indeed of what ht://Check [1] has now become thanks to his work on the Open Accessibility Checks and I think it is a really important step for a methodological and uniform way of automatically assessing accessibility of HTML documents. We all know this can't be the only way of evaluating an accessible page, but at the same time it could massively help the human and supervised evaluation. I am just wondering if there are any existing public libraries (or projects that aim to build them) that would perform this kind of tests on an HTML document and produce different outputs (RDF and specifically EARL could be realistic cases, for instance). Also, do we have any statistics regarding the most spread and diffused accessibility barriers on the Internet? If not, I was thinking we could build a sort of "panel" of web sites that we can follow for a specified period and run ht://Check against them. ht://Check can build a database of the accessibility checks that have failed and - if periodically run - could give us an important report of the situation and its evolution. Any thoughts? Ok. That's all for now. I guess I will talk to you tonight. :-) Ciao, -Gabriele [1] ht://Check is an open-source link checker which crawls the Internet (or portions of it) and stores structure and content information in a MySQL database. Since version 1.2.3 it introduces the concept and feature of accessibility checks, by following the open accessibility checks promoted by the University of Toronto.
