Hi Group! As I’m not 100% sure at the moment that I can attend the teleconference this evening, just some remarks about > 2. Meta navigation > Ref: <http://www.w3.org/2009/06/03-waiage-minutes.html#item01> > - feedback from discussion with WAI-AGE TF There is some feedback about the annotations and their appearance, which should probably be discussed, too. (Quotes now from that document:http://www.w3.org/2009/06/03-waiage-minutes.html#item01 ) > Andrew: for people with small screens and/or magnifications are you > going to show the number available to help people to know how many > Icons they have to look for? I think that is a good question and we should consider it, like having the text to read “Show 2 Annotations” or something like that. > Jack: I see it Templates are not what you would normally have here > ... it is not obvious what you want with the template tab I tend to second that, probably we should move the template link out of the navigation. On the other hand it deserves to be presented in the same way as the other examples. Probably prefixing each tab with “Demo:” could work but would also use considerably more space. > Andrew: Indicating template visually will not work for screen readers, > but is a partial solution > ... Can we make some other distinctions between the 2 sets of tabs > (navigation's) I’m afraid we cannot. It is quite a balancing act to have the demo navigation a) visually cohesive and b) visually distinct. I think something like a label “Choose a demo” could help to make it clearer. > Shadi: will take this back and see what we can do, one suggestion is to > have the demonstration navigation on the right side of the screen Never heard of that one – and opposing to it. We don’t have any horizontal screen space left for a demo navigation. > Suzette: i just tested both on WAVE 4.0 ... one error on the accessible > version. 36 accessibility errors on the bad site and one on the after site > something about "skip navigation" Waived that error already (pun intended). Overall it seems like pretty positive feedback and we should not change too much over the current version.
