Re: question: WAI CC meeting time and schedule

Thanks, Kevin. My perspective from my experience in APA's various
groupings is that ending a bit early provides practical benefits to
everyone. For instance I'm less likely to raise my hand to scribe if I'm
in a meeting that that has trouble ending on time, let alone a few
minutes early. So I appreciate your willingness to try.

I agree that our conversations have their own trajectories that may
indeed catapault us beyond a time horizon we've arbitrarily predefined.
On the other hand, I think we can be conscious to avoid taking up topics
with only 3-4 minutes left that are likely to need more than 3-4
minutes. This last one APA is still struggling with as we try to squeeze
in our entire agenda, because agendas don't always cooperate with our
intentions.

I am increasingly impressed that honoring the time horizon is a key tangible metric
by which we demonstrate respect for our participants.
