Dear All, I'm canceling tomorrow's WAI Coordination Call, as I need to be out of the office tomorrow for a family matter. _*W3C System outages:*_ You have probably also noted that there is currently a significant outage of W3C's online services. Some email distribution is occurring over W3C mailing lists, but only intermittently, so I'm not sure when you'll get this email. People should still be able to receive most direct emails to individuals. I will send this same email later this evening to your email addresses directly, for those whose addresses I have. IRC, Calendaring, parts of the Web site, and other services have been intermittently or fully down. Some other parts of W3C services are still available, such as GitHub, W3C Community Slack, and some other services. The outage is due to a significant MIT CSAIL service outage, which many W3C services run on. I encourage you to find alternative ways to continue working with your groups. Here are some resources: * You can check status of services for W3C at *https://status.w3.org/* * For the current issue, you can also check status for MIT CSAIL at *https://tig.csail.mit.edu* * You can join the W3C Community Slack channel; here is a link to an invitation: *https://twitter.com/w3c/status/1252972104456306688?lang=en* * You can continue work in Github, Googledocs, and other services. Note that some group participants may not have the contact information for Zoom meetings. If you have that info, and can get it to the active participants in your groups by direct email (rather than putting that information on mailing lists), that may be helpful and allow you to continue meeting. *_Asynchronous checking in_*: We can do some things asynchronously... so, could you please: * Make sure that your sections of the publication announcements are up to date https://www.w3.org/WAI/cc/wiki/WAI_Announcement_Drafts * Note that there is a TPAC 2021 publishing moratorium from October 18-29 due to TPAC. * Note also that WAI's announcement activities may be reduced starting October 11, due to reduced staff time for announcements for that week. If possible, please get your messages ready for review and sending this week. * I will be offline tomorrow Wednesday October 6, but available Thursday and Friday. * If you have FYI's agenda items needing discussion, please send the public-wai-cc@w3.org mailing list, even though we are not meeting, in case there is some other way we can follow up on these items. _*Next meeting: *_ Our next scheduled meeting would ordinarily be in two weeks, on October 20th. However, that will be in the middle of TPAC, when we usually cancel regular meetings so as to make more time available to attend TPAC break-outs. I currently plan to be available during our regular meeting time on October 20 in case there are particular items that any WAI CC participants need to discuss, but please feel free to ping me outside of meeting times if and as needed. Best, - Judy -- Judy Brewer Director, Web Accessibility Initiative at the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) 105 Broadway, Room 7-128, MIT/CSAIL Cambridge MA 02142 USA www.w3.org/WAI/
