Dear WAI Chairs and Others, As I noted on the WAI Coordination Call, I will be sending to you (on a semi-regular basis), requests to solicit draft content that you would like me to share on the WAI-IG to promote a more continuous review cycle of content that you specifically would like discussion, comments, and feedback on. This is the first of such email (from a newbie chair trying to find some legs)….:-) WAI-IG’s mission is to be a place for DISCUSSION concerning issues, solutions and awareness concerning Accessibility overall and WAI documents/activities specifically. To understand how WAI-IG can hopefully help you in your work, assume that DISCUSSION (and informal comments) should happen on WAI-IG list (as well as your WG/IG lists, and elsewhere). Assume that *formal* COMMENTS and FEEDBACK on official documents should be directed to your desired input location…… Because of the unique makeup of WAI-IG participants, chairs should expect to receive input that is broader (with additional perspectives) then what their own WG/IG listservs are able to provide. When/if you have any content (heretofore *it*) you would like me to submit to the list for review (discussion, comments, and feedback on) please include these 4 things: 1. INTRODUCTION: One, two or more sentence Intro about what *it* is, and what *it*is for. 2. LINKS to CONTENT LOCATION, or TEXT of the CONTENT. 3. COMMENT DUE DATE or COMPLETE REVIEW PERIOD 4. If applicable, WHERE and HOW SPECIFICALLY *formal* comments and feedback on official documents should be sent. (Example: email and/or Github or other) Please, note that this is NOT to suggest that you shouldn’t directly just send messages for content review to the WAI-IG list without going through me – just be thinking that in the long term I am going to try to be providing some regular-ish ‘call for discussions’ of the content that you need/desire comments and feedback on. Finally, so with all that in mind, please send me whatever content you would like me to share with WAI-IG for late JUNE 2016 by this weekend. FYI, from the <https://www.w3.org/WAI/IG/charter5> WAI-IG Charter these are the working groups, interest groups and task forces with their generated content, that WAI-IG is chartered to focus its attention on: The WAI IG provides a forum for review and discussion of draft deliverables from the following WAI groups: 1. Accessible Platform Architectures Working Group (APA WG <http://www.w3.org/WAI/APA/> ) 2. ARIA Working Group (ARIA WG <http://www.w3.org/WAI/ARIA/> ) 3. Education and Outreach Working Group (EOWG <http://www.w3.org/WAI/EO/> ) 4. Web Content Accessibility Guidelines Working Group (WCAG WG <https://www.w3.org/WAI/GL/> ) Thanks!! * katie * Katie Haritos-Shea Principal ICT Accessibility Architect Chair, W3C WAI (Web Accessibility Initiative) Interest Group ( <https://twitter.com/w3c_wai> @w3c_wai) JOIN US: Subscribe to the WAI IG list, send an email to <mailto:w3c-wai-ig-request@w3.org> w3c-wai-ig-request@w3.org with “subscribe” as the subject line.
