Apologies for not sending a draft for critique.

IRC is #w3process

Log of prior meeting at <https://www.w3.org/2020/01/08-w3process-minutes.html>

Usual meeting time: SECOND and FOURTH WEDNESDAY OF THE MONTH AT 7AM PACIFIC

1) Assign scribe, etc.,

2) Agenda bash. I’d like Florian, and anyone else, say if any of the issues or Pull Requests would benefit from discussion on the call; we’ll add them to the end of the agenda, forcing a time limit.

3) Timetable and process.

3.1) background

We have to have a completed document, and an overview, approved by the AB, ready to present to the AC prior to the spring AC meeting. There is only one prior AB meeting.

 • 29 January
 • 12 February

The goal on this call is to review the landscape, amke sure we’re all reviewing, and on track for a formal approval on the 12th Feb Call

3.2) Look at the DIFF from the current process

<https://services.w3.org/htmldiff?doc1=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.w3.org%2F2019%2FProcess-20190301%2F&doc2=https%3A%2F%2Fw3c.github.io%2Fw3process%2F>

There are a lot of changes that are triggered simply by the tooling change (e.g. lots of new curly quotes). The document also, alas, needs importing into a spell-checker (see examples below).

Other changes:
2.2.1 Delete ’Team Submissions’
2.5 cleaned up text, clearer writing, no intended changes AFAIK
*** TYPO: avaiable (twice)
3.3.0: Note on chair’s determination of consensus
3.5: clearer about chair and group decisions, and appeals
5.2.3: examples of charter changes
*** TYPO: Intrest
5.2.6: we introduce Expandable Recommendation (dangerously close to ‘expendable’, hm)
5.2.6: text changes to the procedures for adopting
6: it’s almost all marked as change, due to the re-shuffling. This is where we need to spend our time

3.3) Pull Requests and Issues that need our attention:

Tagged Agenda+ <https://github.com/w3c/w3process/labels/Agenda%2B>

Pull Requests <https://github.com/w3c/w3process/pulls>

The usual closers:

4) Next meeting. Wed Feb 12th.

5) Any other business.

Offline, we need people to start closing, or moving issues to the 2021 milestone, and so on.
