Dear W3C anniversaries task force members, I would like to update you on three quick items, including an invitation to our next conference call on Friday, 28 June: 1) My anniversaries task force presentation at the Advisory Committee Representatives (W3C's AC Rep Meeting) in Tokyo went well last week. However, as the presentation was presented at a breakout session, I did have some strong competition with competing topics. Reps from Boeing, Adobe, NEC, Panasonic, and the Japanese government were in my session, as well as W3C Office managers from Spain, Brazil, India, the UK, and Japan. My presentation is available on our task force wiki <http://www.w3.org/wiki/Headlights2013/Anniversaries> . The session produced a lot of discussion about W3C's brand and the anniversaries, but I received no new direction or funding resources as a result. Note the slides at the end of the presentation reference a recent Coca-Cola campaign promoting "global connections". Ian and I are in discussions with that campaign's Creative Director and Digital Design Director to explore a potential link with Coke for our anniversary celebrations too-although the discussions are very preliminary and may/may not bear fruit. (A couple of AC Reps at my Tokyo session expressed some concern about such a partnership too.) As a reminder, the (final?) anniversaries task force proposal and presentation to W3M (W3C management team) is scheduled for July 18. So now is the time to make your voices heard! 2) I'd like to welcome two new members to the anniversaries task force from Google. -Jesse Friedman, Google Marketing (I have added you, so please let me know if you're having any access troubles) -Derek Slater (Derek, to add you to this listserv and for wiki access, please first create a W3C account <https://www.w3.org/accounts/request> ) (Dillon Mann, I believe you and Derek already know each other and have had some conversations about The Web We Want.) I hope we can continue to add new task force members, especially from W3C member companies! Feel free to share potential invitees on the wiki, via the listserv, or with me directly. 3) I propose our next task force discussion take place on Friday, 28 June at 10:30 a.m. ET. (Please RSVP to me <mailto:msiderwicz@w3.org> by Wednesday EOD.) Conference bridge call in number is 617 761 6200. When prompted, please enter code 2668, then #. Those on IRC can follow on #ANNIV. I apologize that the date/time may not be convenient for everyone; we have task force members from many different time zones. I'll follow up with an agenda next week, but suffice to say we need to wrap up our planning. Thanks, Marilyn Siderwicz W3C Marketing and Communications Strategist
