There was a problem with generating yesterday's IRC minutes. These were created from the original IRC log, so we don't have the normal nice HTML version. Thanks to Kazuyuki Ashimura for helping with this! meeting: voiceinteraction chair: Debbie scribe: ddahl present: debbie dirk topic: architecture review Dirk's recent updates to the architecture document, https://w3c.github.io/voiceinteraction/voice%20interaction%20drafts/paArchit ecture-1-1.htm dirk: made some changes to client section dirk: remove second sentence from microphone section because it's already covered debbie: this specification doesn't cover codecs debbie: we could say implementers are advised to support commonly used codecs ...for interoperability dirk: should remove last sentence of speaker section ... add example of turning on a light as a visible output ...added client activation strategy debbie: also push and hold or streaming to activate debbie: push and hold is not obsolete, for example Comcast TV voice remote ...has push and hold ...we could say "activate with a button" ...or activate with voice dirk: todo -- add a service registry for local services and data providers ...because someone has to know them for local services to work debbie: should be the same format and API as the remote one ...this would be another section in 3.1 dirk: will add color coding to "todo" items dirk: important ones are dialog layer, history, NLG, dialogs, debbie: skip the ones at the end of 3.3.1 dirk: data providers ...external services ...IPA provider, add microphone and speaker to figure 2 ...adapt Figure 3 to current architecture ...how much time do we need to finish these edits? debbie: regrets for January 27 call, so we can skip that and plan to finish at the call in a month, February 10
