[Agenda] 12 July "new standards" task force meeting

Dear task force people,

Our next call is Monday, 12 July, at 11:30am Boston time for 60
minutes (although the last time we went to 90 minutes).

Bridge info: +1.617.761.6200, +33.4.89.06.34.99, or +44.117.370.6152
(more info [1]) Code 63978 (NEWST)

Agenda (suggestions welcome):

----
(1) Light review of current survey results
    http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-vision-newstd/2010Jul/0016.html

----
(2) How to start turning ideas into proposals? See the list of ideas
and existing proposals:
  http://www.w3.org/2010/04/w3c-vision-public/wiki/Newstd#Ideas_and_proposals

We have picked [1] "Experiment" as the top priority use case [2].

One idea is to create three subgroups to come up with "competing"
proposals. The proposals should satisfy the use case while lowering
barriers [3].

After, say, 2 weeks we could reconvene, compare the proposals,
pick our favorite (possibly mixing and matching parts of the
proposals), and then refine it.

I welcome other suggestions for getting a few proposals on the
table. People are welcome to put their existing proposals on the table.

Meanwhile, I have had a lot of 1-on-1 conversations with people
and updated the wiki with some notes. I encourage others to do the
same. I have not had the opportunity yet to turn all of the
suggestions I've heard into a concrete proposal (or even a coherent
set of notes). There have been some very interesting observations and
suggestions and I need to find time to share them. I have not been
inclined to share the raw notes (and have not asked permission to do
so).

I have not compelted a related actio to "For outreach to people/
groups, draft letter about this project":
    http://www.w3.org/2010/newstd/track/actions/3

I consider that Arnaud has fulfilled his action to suggest some
process simplifications:
    http://www.w3.org/2010/newstd/track/actions/1

I've updated the wiki with notes based on the thread.

One other note: I plan to keep looking for opportunities to
address the other use cases with our proposals, but doing so will be a
lower priority than addressing the primary use case.

(3) Liaison improvements. Let's check on DanA's action item:
