Hi all, A quick introduction related to what we're trying to do here: The Veres One Project envisions a world where people and organizations create, own, and control their identifiers and resulting identities. The Veres One Blockchain is a fit-for-purpose blockchain optimized for identity on the Web. The network ecosystem is designed to be self-sufficient through the use of an innovative operational and funding model. The operational model ensures openness, prevents attacks against the network, and financially rewards individuals and organizations that choose to run software to ensure security of the network. Human dignity demands that every individual be able to participate equally in our increasingly digital society. That means everyone deserves the ability create and administer unique, globally resolvable identifiers. For that reason, the network is global and open to the public; anyone may participate. We have made it a priority to standardize every aspect of this new blockchain and network. Some of the work that we've been doing in this area: Decentralized Identifiers https://w3c-ccg.github.io/did-spec/ Verifiable Credentials https://w3c.github.io/vc-data-model/ Credential Handler API https://w3c-ccg.github.io/credential-handler-api/ Web Ledger https://w3c.github.io/web-ledger/ with much more to come as we work with the W3C Verifiable Claims WG, W3C Credentials CG, the Rebooting the Web of Trust Workshops, Internet Identity Workshop, and the Decentralized Identity Foundation. We'll be making a broader announcement and release of information during the next month or so. -- manu -- Manu Sporny (skype: msporny, twitter: manusporny, G+: +Manu Sporny) Founder/CEO - Digital Bazaar, Inc. blog: The State of W3C Web Payments in 2017 http://manu.sporny.org/2017/w3c-web-payments/
