I look forward to hearing your thoughts on this, From the slides, it feels a bit like the "ID2020" meeting that some of us attended at the United Nations way back in 2014 (where we had some of the first meetings on the things that became DIDs and VCs): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ID2020 It was a good catalyst for what became the work we're doing now, though I can't say that the meeting had a strong influence on what actually ended up happening. As those of you that have dabbled in the UN/IGF/NGO waters, the focus of those meetings tends to be far higher on the political stack than the day-to-day work we're doing here. They do a good job in setting broad goals, but not necessarily ensuring that those goals are met. I do think it's important for a few leaders/staff from the VCWG to attend and provide full throated support for the work we're doing here in the WG. Specifically, educating those in attendance of what is possible and the current state of the work is important. Simultaneously, this seems like it's right in the middle of many of our summer vacations in the US (mine included), and with the current state of the federal administration, international travel is unlikely to be granted for the government institutions that are deploying VCs. Important that we attend and provide representation for and education from the group. Also important that we have someone that's politically savvy and not shy in speaking up attend -- and, ideally, get a speaking slot or three. -- manu -- Manu Sporny - https://www.linkedin.com/in/manusporny/ Founder/CEO - Digital Bazaar, Inc. https://www.digitalbazaar.com/
