Hi all! Sorry I've been quite here other than a few light contributions on GitHub. This is a group I'm monitoring more than participating in, but it seems fate might have it otherwise. :) Below is a message from Tzviya Siegman (also of Wiley, but not currently signed up for this WG). We've both been tasked (as you'll read) to be involved in some similar efforts with another group elsewhere. Consequently, we're looking for overlaps. Here's Tzviya's message for your consideration(s): I am the co-chair of the Publishing WG [0]. When I’m not standardizing things, I’m on the Platform Architecture team at Wiley. My colleague, Benjamin Young and I were asked to join Wiley’s efforts in the Resource Access in the 21st Century (RA21) [1] initiative. This is a joint effort between the International Association of Scientific, Technical, and Medical Publishers (STM) and the National Information Standards Organization (NISO) to simplify the UX and governance of access to multiple platforms and protocols. There is agreement to make everything open, create a federated code base, and have a neutral hosting mechanism. We have copied Elias Balafoutis, our colleague from Atypon, who is involved, especially in developing pilots. We are interested in exploring options for collaboration with VCWG. The RA21 Use Cases [2] overlap significantly with the VC Use Cases. We think it is worth having a discussion (at least over email) about the overlaps that exists and how the communities might be able to avoid duplicating work (“leverage synergies”). Please take a look at the pilots [3]. Let us know what you think. Would the Verifiable Claims Data Model make sense as a basis for RA21? If there is interest, we can figure out a way to have a larger discussion. If you have questions, Elias is likely the one who will be able to answer them.
