The DOM Attribute interface provides methods that could be used to address metadata. 

This issue is being raised to track the discussion and the work in the document.

The idea of doing this was initially raised by Sailesh in http://lists.w3..org/Archives/Member/w3c-di-wg/2007Apr/0007.html in item 2.
