palemieux has just created a new issue for https://github.com/w3c/imsc: == ARIB liaison 2025-09-05: Section B. Common Character Sets - Table 2 == With regard to the specification of the Japanese (ja) character set in Table 2. Supplementary Character Sets, ARIB Data WG would like to thank TTWG that TTWG accepts our proposal for characters for Japanese in the Table 2., which are mentioned in our previous reply liaison to TTWG. Through the review work of the FPWD, ARIB Data WG found another combination of the collections of characters for Japanese to align with ARIB STD-B62 more precisely. ARIB Data WG would like to propose to update the definition of the character set for Japanese in the FPWD, as shown in List 2. List 2. Proposed revision of character set for Japanese in Table 2. In Section B. in the FPWD (Basic Japanese) Collection 285 at [ISO10646] (Japanese Non Ideographics Extension) Collection 286 at [ISO10646] (Common Japanese) Collection 287 at [ISO10646] (JIS2004 Ideographics Extension) Collection 371 at [ISO10646] (Japanese Ideographics Supplement) Collection 372 at [ISO10646] (Additional symbols and characters (Part 1)) Table 5-2 at [ARIB STD-B62] * For variation of Kanji characters, the Ideographic Variation Selector defined in [ISO10646] shall be used.
