Meeting minutes
This meeting
Nigel: Today we have DAPT and TPAC on the agenda
… Any other business, or points to make sure we get to?
no other business
DAPT
Nigel: In the last 4 weeks I haven't spotted any activity on
DAPT
… In our last call I mentioned I would be pushing some final
(hopefully) tweaks to the open pull request,
… which it looks like I did.
Cyril: There are several commits since my last review - are
they technical?
Nigel: Yes, there are a number of technical changes
Cyril: I'll review those later today. I already spotted a typo
- in an xpath there is a double slash
Nigel: That's not a mistake, it's deliberate
Cyril: What does it mean?
Nigel: It means there can be any number of elements in-between
Cyril: I thought it would be a *
Nigel: I don't think so, also I don't think there's a shorthand
for "any number of elements that are all one type".
Cyril: I'm seeing the new sentence about "good practice to put
all the characters in the same metadata element"
… I thought we had said it had to be the first one, but we
don't say that.
… In the document conventions we give an example relating to
this, but it's just in the conventions.
… I'll do the review after.
Nigel: OK, anything else on DAPT?
no more right now
TPAC 2024
Nigel: Now is the time we have to start nailing down the agenda
topics.
… Obvious agenda topics are:
… DAPT - can we move to CR?
… for our joint call with MEIG, I think that captions in Media
Source Extensions is likely to come up,
… so any desire or thoughts about that are worth preparing.
Cyril: When do you foresee this topic being discussed?
Nigel: During the joint meeting with MEIG and APA WG
… It could also be worth raising in the Media WG
[9]TPAC 2024 Detailed schedule
[9] https://www.w3.org/2024/09/TPAC/schedule.html
Nigel: That's currently scheduled for 23rd Sep, Monday morning,
11am.
… Oh hang on, something looks like it hasn't been updated
properly.
… It's also showing as Friday 27th Sep 11:00-12:30.
… I think that is the correct one.
… Chairs need to put together a more detailed agenda before
next meeting so I will take that action.
… Please let me know what agenda topics may be useful to you.
… Double checking the schedule, it has us meeting with MEIG on
Monday and MEIG and APA together on Friday.
… I don't think we will need both, and will double check with
Chris Needham about that.
Meeting close
Nigel: We had no Other Business, so we've completed our agenda.
… Thanks everyone. [adjourns meeting]
