[10]Meeting close Meeting minutes This meeting Nigel: TPAC planning … IMSC-HRM … DAPT … Is any other business, or points to make sure we cover? no other business TPAC Planning Nigel: This is our last call before we meet at TPAC … Would be good to have as many agenda topics as needed for Chairs to wrangle. Github: [11]w3c/ttwg#262 [11] https://github.com/w3c/ttwg/issues/262 Nigel: Specific requested topics: … To discuss webvtt issue 511 about metadata cue formats … and … Eric Carlson and Marcos Caceres asked for time to talk about a Text Track Cue proposal they are planning to work on. … That one is about cues that insert HTML fragments. I think Pierre had some involvement with that … several years ago. … It's in the Safari Developer Preview and has been for a while. … Looks like they want to take it to the next stage and discuss actual spec changes, and TTWG … is one of the affected groups I think. … They asked for it to be later in the day so US folk can dial in. Eric will be there in person. Gary: I will not be. Nigel: Are there any other specific agenda topic requests right now? … The other two agenda topics that I recalled DAPT and IMSC-HRM implementations … As last year for DAPT I would hope to make some progress if Cyril is present. Cyril: I will not be there in person but can wake up early to join discussions. … The Media WG meets from 1400-1900 (on whichever day of the week) to accommodate people on the West Coast. Gary: I just checked - they meet on Monday afternoon, and MEIG meets on Monday morning. Nigel: I don't think I've received feedback on DAPT or IMSC-HRM yet Pierre: I've had some interest from folks who want me to bug them in September. … One major platform ran imschrm on a big part of their library. … It turns out that a bunch of their IMSC documents were actually invalid. … We're in the process of making sure that all the failures were not due to HRM failures. Cyril: Syntactically? Pierre: Yes, they were invalid syntactically - all the failures were not HRM related. Nigel: Were they the sort of syntax errors you might expect to be valid reasonably? Pierre: One of the issues was that 29.97 framerate content had frame counts of 30 occasionally. … We're working through that. … I expect mid-late September to have additional results. Nigel: Does that mean we have no IMSC or IMSC-HRM topics for TPAC? Pierre: I'm not aware of anything. Andreas: One more possible topic. Currently some standards orgs are working on liaisons that may … reach TTWG and cause an agenda topic. We can decide when it arrives. Nigel: Thank you for the warning. … In that case we have a small number of topics for the Chairs to arrange into a schedule. … Thanks all. … Anything else on TPAC planning? Joint meetings Nigel: On the Monday 11:50-12:35 Spanish time, joint between TTWG, MEIG and (I thought) Media WG. … Chris has put together an agenda for the whole MEIG session, still a little fluid in terms of the details on the slides. [12]MEIG agenda slides [12] https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1sadWsW1NZkfjlUdZ5FkXa_taUCzp1jyBNtemqY2WXgE/edit?usp=sharing Gary: We had previously brought up a discussion about the Text Track API but … I don't think anyone is ready to talk about that because I think, … especially because of my circumstances, it fell on the floor. Nigel: Yes, that is a shame, however the Text Track Cue API discussion might help that along potentially. Gary: Yes, that definitely covers a portion of our big ideals. Nigel: Let us know if there's anything else to discuss in that joint meeting. … The next joint call we have is on the Thursday afternoon, with APA and MEIG, 14:30-16:30 Spanish time. … Chris previously put together a short agenda of bullet points which I think we've circulated here before. … I don't have it to hand right now. … I propose we re-circulate that offline. Chris: for the APA WG joint meeting, I have added the suggested topics to [13]w3c/media-and-entertainment#95 (comment) [13] https://github.com/w3c/media-and-entertainment/issues/95#issuecomment-1580622323 Nigel: I think we normally put together an agenda page that's more easily consumable in one place by attendees … so I should give myself the action to do that. [14]Prepare agenda page for TPAC [14] https://github.com/w3c/ttwg/issues/265 IMSC-HRM Nigel: Pierre, you mentioned this at the front of the meeting. Anything more to say? Pierre: No, based on encouraging commitments I expect results at the end of September. Nigel: Great, thank you. Pierre: Unless we discover that everyone has invalid IMSC libraries! That would be a bigger issue. … It is an issue because it makes testing the HRM difficult. Nigel: There's a wider point here about the technical quality of tools. … I often see issues that need ironing out. Pierre: Maybe there's an opportunity to make further progress on fixing invalid file production. [Pierre drops off the call] DAPT Nigel: I haven't seen anything over the last few weeks. Cyril, have you? Cyril: No, I stopped on this after the HR forms. I need to pick it up again. … You had some suggestions about the explainer, Nigel, which I need to action. … Maybe I could do the internationalisation request pointing to the draft explainer and then fix it? Nigel: I don't think the changes I suggested were huge. Cyril: In that case I can do them today or tomorrow and then make the request. … Also I sent messages to studio contacts to see if they have any opinions and can contribute comments. … I don't know if it will lead to anything. … I reached out to Disney, Warner, Apple, CableLabs and I think one more. Nigel: Would you be able to add those to the Outreach log on the wiki page? Cyril: Yes, I will. Nigel: I also got around to contacting MESA today - thank you to both Matt and Pierre for providing details. … I added that to the Outreach log also. … We have a bunch of open pull requests that need some work too, most are for you Cyril, at least one is for me. … For the time being though I haven't received any responses to our liaisons other than acknowledgement, as far as I am aware. … We asked for responses by 10th September. Cyril: You will not get a response from MPEG - I can tell you the request was received and reviewed, … and no action taken. Nigel: That's fine, we've done what we needed. … I think I am expecting a response from ITU though, need to check. … I know they received the message and I think they discussed it. … Anything else to discuss re DAPT right now? Cyril: I can't think of anything at the moment. Meeting close Nigel: We've completed our agenda, thank you everyone. … Next meeting will be in Seville, see you there, in person or remotely. … [adjourns meeting] Minutes manually created (not a transcript), formatted by [15]scribe.perl version 221 (Fri Jul 21 14:01:30 2023 UTC).
