Advisory Committee Representatives, Advisory Board, Chairs, TAG,

For the Virtual TPAC 2020 to be a success, the format we propose focuses
on collaborative meetings that bring together the community
    and create momentum and brainstorming.

You will find below the details of the Fall 2020 TPAC event:
    https://www.w3.org/2020/10/TPAC/Overview.html

    ------------------------------------------
    Format
    ------------------------------------------

    * WG/IG/BG/CG meetings: self-organized; NOT overlapping TPAC breakout
    week (26 to 30 October) (*)
    * Joint Group meetings week: self-organized; 12-16 October (*)
    * TPAC Breakout week: 26-30 October (**)

    Notes:
    * Observers are allowed in all distributed meetings so that members of
our community have the opportunity to see the work of the W3C groups.
    * WG/IG/BG/CG chairs will opt-in to appear on the global meeting
    schedule we will publish.
    * Groups appearing on the global meeting schedule agree to create
interaction with more of the community.

(*) We are asking Chairs to work out their distributed meetings via a
    wiki until mid-August.
(*) If Chairs need any assistance with planning the group meetings, the
W3C Events Team <w3t-tpregister@w3.org> is here to help you.

(**) In order to gather a maximum of attendees all around the globe, the
breakout sessions will be generally held at 14:00-15:00 UTC.
It will be possible, on an exceptional basis, to suggest another time
slot if the suggested one is not possible for some sessions.
The call for breakout sessions will open end of August.

    ------------------------------------------
    More Diverse Set of Representatives
    ------------------------------------------

This year we would like to challenge W3C members to send more diverse
candidates to virtual TPAC. Please encourage your experienced colleagues
    to mentor them.

    ------------------------------------------
    Diversity fund
    ------------------------------------------

We are extending until *14 August* the call for Sponsors [1] in the TPAC
    2020 diversity fund.

Given our commitment to attracting a diverse community, the fund could
be used to help support services or software that can help people
participate in TPAC and W3C groups in general, higher bandwidth,
hardware (e.g. webcams, microphones, graphic tablets), child + elder
care costs, or bursary (e.g. paying for freelancers' time while they’re
not taking on work to participate in TPAC).

    ------------------------------------------
    Registration & Fees
    ------------------------------------------

The official registration for the sessions will open on Monday 17 August.

We are waiving the registration fees for this entire event. W3C Members
and Invited Experts may attend any part of the schedule and there are no
    fees.
Registered participants in W3C Community Groups may participate in their
CG meeting and there are no fees.

If you have any questions or comments, contact the W3C Events Team
    <w3t-tpregister@w3.org>.

    Best regards,
    Alexandra Lacourba
    W3C Global Events Coordinator
