Glenn, All, Over the past 6-8 months we have had a number of fractious and long-winded conversations about a few issues and pull requests, which have resulted in complaints directly to me about tone, approach, and productivity. As Chair, I need to take action to address these points. I’m sorry to report that the complaints have centered on Glenn who has unfortunately blended his usual high degree of technical expertise with a style of approach that other members feel has hindered our work rather than facilitated it, in particular prioritising winning arguments as “negotiations" over making changes based on technical merit. This is not what we need from an Editor, and it is not what, as a Chair, I am looking for. I’m therefore taking the highly unusual, and disappointing, step of putting Glenn on notice that his role as Editor in TTWG, of all the documents of which he currently is Editor, is at risk. I will assess the group’s progress again in a month, to see if I can remove this notice. However if there is any further significant event which seems to prevent us making progress, I may take further action sooner. By the way, the role of the Editor<https://lists.w3.org/Archives/Member/chairs/1999JanMar/0056> is the first link in the W3C Guidebook for Editors<https://www.w3.org/2003/Editors/> and may make interesting further reading. Nigel
