[4]This Meeting 2. [5]TPAC 3. [6]IMSC 4. [7]Profiles registry * [8]Summary of Action Items * [9]Summary of Resolutions __________________________________________________________ <scribe> scribe: nigel This Meeting nigel: I don't think we have any Action Items unrelated to agenda items, nor anything ... to report on Charter. So I propose we cover TPAC, IMSC, Profile Registry and anything else we have time (and people) for. ... AOB? TPAC nigel: As per my email yesterday, we have draft schedule dates for TPAC, being the ... Monday and Tuesday. Draft schedule is at [10]https://www.w3.org/2016/09/TPAC/schedule.html ... It's a shame that we overlap the Web & TV IG, as for me anyway it was useful to attend ... both last year. ... We did ask not to overlap, on the WBS survey, but we do. ... I'd like to ask this group how many people would prefer to attend both, so we can ... get an idea of how big an issue this is for us. [10] https://www.w3.org/2016/09/TPAC/schedule.html <scribe> ACTION: nigel Ask TTWG who would really prefer to be able to attend Web & TV IG as well as TTWG at TPAC 2016 [recorded in [11]http://www.w3.org/2016/04/28-tt-minutes.html#action01] [11] http://www.w3.org/2016/04/28-tt-minutes.html#action01] <trackbot> Created ACTION-464 - Ask ttwg who would really prefer to be able to attend web & tv ig as well as ttwg at tpac 2016 [on Nigel Megitt - due 2016-05-05]. pal: Note that moving TTWG would be really bad for me! tmichel: Don't expect the Web & TV IG to move, because it's huge. They've requested 40 participants! nigel: Yes, their once a year meeting is well attended. ... There's common interest amongst Web & TV IG members and our members. IMSC nigel: Notes that there's still no press release for IMSC, due in part to the comm team being busy I'm told. <scribe> ACTION: tmichel Ping plh privately regarding IMSC Rec press release [recorded in [12]http://www.w3.org/2016/04/28-tt-minutes.html#action02] [12] http://www.w3.org/2016/04/28-tt-minutes.html#action02] <trackbot> Created ACTION-465 - Ping plh privately regarding imsc rec press release [on Thierry Michel - due 2016-05-05]. group: Voices strong concern at this situation on behalf of those organisations which they reached out to for content for the PR. action-461? <trackbot> action-461 -- Thierry Michel to Add an acknowledgment section to the imsc 1 errata section. -- due 2016-04-28 -- OPEN <trackbot> [13]http://www.w3.org/AudioVideo/TT/tracker/actions/461 [13] http://www.w3.org/AudioVideo/TT/tracker/actions/461 tmichel: I started to wrap this up with a single errata with the acknowledgment section. ... The first paragraph thanks and names current participants of the TTWG, in alphabetical order. ... The 2nd paragraph includes special thanks to some people, those from the WG that ... I'm aware of (might have missed some names). ... The 3rd paragraph thanks DECE. ... I had feedback from Pierre saying that the 1st para should probably not name people ... and just thank current participants of the WG. I think that's a good way to go; it's easier ... not to mention names because there are lots of participants listed who never come ... to the meetings nor send any emails and have never participated in IMSC 1. ... I agree that it's probably best not to mention those people. The suggestion is to remove ... the names from para 1, review the 2nd para adding any missing names, and keep ... the thanks to DECE. We name them because they contributed the document for the Member Submission. pal: And contributed test vectors too. tmichel: I should add that. ... I made a pull request: [14]https://github.com/w3c/imsc/pull/179 ... I'll change the 1st para to take out individual names, and add more detail on the 3rd para. ... What do you prefer for the 2nd para? [14] https://github.com/w3c/imsc/pull/179 pal: As Editor I don't think we can exhaustively list the people who need special thanks. ... My preference is not to do that. nigel: I think we can and should add specific names. pal: I think John Birch added meaningful text, so we should add his name. I'd have to go ... back through all my notes. nigel: I'd acknowledge people who have contributed text or feature requests. tmichel: This errata isn't normative - if we notice later that we missed someone then we ... can add it later. ... I'll review this and add John Birch. nigel: Yes, and reviewing, I think this is a pretty good list. mike: So the clear test is that people contributed text? nigel: I'd open it up slightly further, and include anyone who added requirements even ... without proposed wording. pal: For the record, I would do none of this. nigel: This is partly a cultural thing for W3C, right? It's normal for W3C specs to acknowledge contributors. tmichel: Yes, it's normal to do that for W3C specs. It's not a requirement, but it's nice. <scribe> ACTION: nigel Review notes to see who if anyone should be added to IMSC acknowledgements for special thanks. [recorded in [15]http://www.w3.org/2016/04/28-tt-minutes.html#action03] [15] http://www.w3.org/2016/04/28-tt-minutes.html#action03] <trackbot> Created ACTION-466 - Review notes to see who if anyone should be added to imsc acknowledgements for special thanks. [on Nigel Megitt - due 2016-05-05]. Action-461: Note also Action-466. <trackbot> Notes added to Action-461 Add an acknowledgment section to the imsc 1 errata section.. pal: I'm thinking of reorganising the repo to have an imsc1 subfolder and an imsc.next folder. ... Is it possible to check we have no links that will break if I do that? tmichel: Yes, I'll check that. pal: I really like the process that /TR publications should never link back to github. tmichel: I've never seen that, but now people in W3C want to use github as much as possible... ... I think the errata should be something stable. pal: Or if you do link to github link to a particular changeset. tmichel: I was thinking of moving a snapshot of the document that has been agreed by ... the working group to a W3C server. Then we can work on the github page for future ... erratas and when we have agreed to publish a new version I will publish it on the same ... URI on the W3C server linked from the Rec document. pal: That makes sense. ... Another topic on IMSC.next - I'm planning to start working on this soon. The first ... task is to come up with a tentative list of features for IMSC.next. nigel: We should cover the extant requests e.g. from ATSC, and also I'm expecting at least ... one more request from another group. I'll encourage them to tell us ASAP! pal: I plan to create an informal list at first, and then we also need to think about using ... TTML2 concepts. Do we know when TTML2 will be done? nigel: Way back when we decided to make IMSC1 and IMSC2 we said we'd wait for TTML2 ... before publishing IMSC2. ... I'd like to publish the low hanging stuff in an interim e.g. IMSC 1.1. tmichel: Are you suggesting we tie the version numbers between IMSC and TTML nigel: Yes, at least for the major version numbers. There's a certain elegance there. pal: I plan to start this ASAP. nigel: A github wiki page might be a good way to capture this. pal: Sounds like a good place to start, okay. Profiles registry action-459? <trackbot> action-459 -- Thierry Michel to Process the PR at [16]https://github.com/w3c/tt-profile-registry/pull/3 and post for review to the reflector -- due 2016-04-21 -- OPEN [16] https://github.com/w3c/tt-profile-registry/pull/3 <trackbot> [17]http://www.w3.org/AudioVideo/TT/tracker/actions/459 [17] http://www.w3.org/AudioVideo/TT/tracker/actions/459 tmichel: I was waiting for approval before inviting review. nigel: Okay, I think we can go ahead with that. Mike: I added [18]https://github.com/w3c/tt-profile-registry/pull/9 [18] https://github.com/w3c/tt-profile-registry/pull/9 nigel: I reviewed this 6 days ago. Any objections to merging this? mike: I did a copy/paste of the registration text from TTML1 and added the new codecs ... parameter and its syntax. ... The intent is to work with plh to register this with IANA. <plh> [19]https://rawgit.com/w3c/ttml2/master/spec/ttml2.html#profile -attribute-processorProfileCombination [19] https://rawgit.com/w3c/ttml2/master/spec/ttml2.html#profile-attribute-processorProfileCombination plh: I see that the pull request gives a link to further information regarding processor profile combination pointing to rawgit not /TR nigel: That's because we can't update the TTML2 WD due to the new stylesheet. tmichel: I could put some energy into manually modifying the ToC if that's the only thing ... blocking this. <scribe> ACTION: tmichel Ask Glenn if a manual modification of the ToC would be feasible to publish a new WD of TTML2 [recorded in [20]http://www.w3.org/2016/04/28-tt-minutes.html#action04] [20] http://www.w3.org/2016/04/28-tt-minutes.html#action04] <trackbot> Created ACTION-467 - Ask glenn if a manual modification of the toc would be feasible to publish a new wd of ttml2 [on Thierry Michel - due 2016-05-05]. <plh> [21]https://www.w3.org/TR/ttml2/#profile-attribute-processorPro fileCombination [21] https://www.w3.org/TR/ttml2/#profile-attribute-processorProfileCombination <plh> [22]https://rawgit.com/w3c/ttml2/master/spec/ttml2.html#profile -attribute-processorProfileCombination [22] https://rawgit.com/w3c/ttml2/master/spec/ttml2.html#profile-attribute-processorProfileCombination plh: The two linked sections look the same. tmichel: I'm more concerned with initiating the conversation with IANA. plh: I suggest we change the link and merge the PR. mike: That's fine too. nigel: Okay with me too. mike: Okay I'll do this, using the first of plh's two links above, the /TR/ one. nigel: This one: [23]https://www.w3.org/TR/ttml2/#profile-attribute-processorPro fileCombination [23] https://www.w3.org/TR/ttml2/#profile-attribute-processorProfileCombination mike: Okay I'll deal with it. nigel: Thierry please could you wait for that to be merged before circulating for review? tmichel: Yes. nigel: Thanks everyone, we're out of time.
