Good morning/evening, Per ACTION-409 [1], please find below and attached additional details on a potential TTWG submission to Unicode re: recommended characters sets for subtitle/caption applications. Based on my reading of CLDR, the request could consist on adding the attached "Supplemental Subtitle/Caption Character Data" to CLDR supplemental data [2]. The data is organized into localized sets of subtitle/caption characters (<localizedSet>) that can reference common sets (<commonSet>) where the same characters are reused across multiple localized sets. The following rules come to mind: - each <localizedSet> should include all characters that can be found in subtitle/captions intended for presentation in the locale - each <localizedSet> should include the 'base' common set and at least all the exemplar characters of the main, punctuation or number sets associated with the locale - when adding exemplar characters to the main, punctuation or number sets associated with a locale, the same characters should be added to the corresponding <localizedSet> (if it exists) Looking forward to feedback, as always. Best, -- Pierre [1] https://www.w3.org/AudioVideo/TT/tracker/actions/409 [2] http://www.unicode.org/reports/tr35/tr35-39/tr35-info.html#Contents
