I'm not sure how this would be different to simply asserting tts:color on the region? Furthermore I think we should perhaps be considering applicative stylesheets in the manner of CSS for these kinds of defaults. -----Original Message----- From: Timed Text Working Group Issue Tracker [mailto:sysbot+tracker@w3.org] Sent: 15 May 2013 23:26 To: public-tt@w3.org Subject: ISSUE-207 (initial value of color property): Consider adding a way to specify a specific, initial value for tts:color. [TTML.next] ISSUE-207 (initial value of color property): Consider adding a way to specify a specific, initial value for tts:color. [TTML.next] http://www.w3.org/AudioVideo/TT/tracker/issues/207 Raised by: Glenn Adams On product: TTML.next At present, the initial value of color is implementation dependent. However, an author may prefer to specify a definite color for this purpose. To specify this, a ttp:initialColor parameter could be defined, e.g., <tt:tt ttp:initialColor="yellow"/> Like other ttp: parameters, this parameter would apply only to tt:tt (root element).
