Presumably though, the captions were authored for 4:3 then you (the server)
changed the resolution/aspect ratio of the original related media. And now
you would like to preserve the 4:3 caption region and break the position
associations that were originally authored?

If you are transforming the related video object AR, why don't you
transform the TTML as well (on the server)?
