in the example profiles, we have something called #metadata-foreign but we don't define it

It seems likely that this was intended to refer to the processing examples in section 12.1.1 metadata, however it is not listed in D.1 feature designations.

Suggested actions are either remove this from the examples, or provide a suitable definition.
