GF: i agree with glenn that we shouldn't rename the spec (http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-tt/2009Sep/0021.html). i also agree that we shouldn't spend much time on this. however, if we're fishing for an official shorthand name to give to the public, i vote for DFXP. it's unambiguous (unlike "timed text," which could be any timed-text format, such as QTText, RealText, SubRip or SAMI) and brief (unlike ttaf1-dfxp). 3. File extension. (candidates include .dfxp, .ttxt) GF: i think .ttxt is similar to .txt and therefore might cause confusion. i'm not unhappy with .xml, but i think .dfxp is the best possible extension because it immediately conveys what the file is.
