SVG simply has a metadata element,into which one can put anything as long as its well formed. The only item of metadata that SVG standardizes is the 'glue layer' between an Open GIS Consortium map coordinate system and the internal SVG one - and that is done using OGC metadata and a single supplementary attribute for the transform between one and the other. What are the compelling SVG features that you refer to? Do you just mean the title, desc and metadata elements themselves?
