MPEG (ISO SC29/WG11) Liaison Submission 2. September f2f arrangements 3. DFXP (distribution format transformation profile) 4. AOB ************************************************************************ 1. MPEG (ISO SC29/WG11) Liaison Submission ************************************************************************ [GA] The group's document for submission to MPEG had been sent to Jan van der Meer of Philips with a request to submit it to SC29 WG11 for consideration by the group working on streaming text. There had been some off-line discussion on this (between Jan, GA, MD) but Jan has declined to present the document to MPEG. [MD] Two possibilities for a way forward were discussed with Jan either (a) change the scope of the MPEG document so that it avoids the area of contention or (b) stop the work in MPEG until the TT recommendation is ready. Jan reported that the MPEG group had adopted 3GPP timed text as nothing else was available to them. He expressed some interest in option (b) as a possible solution to our concerns. [MD] Should National Bodies be asked to help raise our concerns? [GA] As Jan declined to present our document, we may need to rely on [DS] to move it forward into MPEG. Will take this up with [DS] at the next telecon. ************************************************************************ 2. September f2f arrangements ************************************************************************ [GA] SYMM working group had too many conflicts for a co-located meeting in Japan and prefered a meeting in Amsterdam around the time of IBC. This would make our next TT f2f 14th -16th September, again hosted by Dick Bulterman at CWI. Asks for attendees: [MD] if, in any case, at IBC, then should be able to make first day of TT meeting, [GF] subject to funding, [EH] will look into it. ([SH & DK] attendance already confirmed). [GA] will confirm f2f arrangements with [DB] at CWI. Will also contact [DB] to encourage him to join the TT WG as an active member and invite him to join the telecons. ************************************************************************ 3. DFXP ************************************************************************ [GF] Will upload the current version of the DFXP draft. ** Comments please by next telecon **. Action item: [All] review DFXP draft for next telecon. [GA] Encourage making DFXP concrete. Will update schema modules and put together driver to select profile. ************************************************************************ 4. AOB ************************************************************************ [DK] Minor point in draft minutes of Amsterdam f2f: days are wrong, should read "Day 2 Tuesday May 11, 2004" (rather than Friday). Same for day 3. Thierry MICHEL W3C/ERCIM
