# Abstract
> This specification defines a core subset of Mathematical Markup Language, or MathML, that is suitable for browser implementation. MathML is a markup language for describing mathematical notation and capturing both its structure and content. The goal of MathML is to enable mathematics to be served, received, and processed on the World Wide Web, just as HTML has enabled this functionality for text.

# Formal Objections
None

# Implementation
According to the Math WG charter, MathML Core needs at least two independent interoperable implementations to exit CR. It uses the Web Platform Tests to test against implementations. There is already good support in browsers: See the [current test results](https://wpt.fyi/results/mathml?label=experimental&label=master&aligned).

There is no estimate of the duration of the CR period, but it will be three months at a minimum.
