The functionality described is intended to support the contribution of real time streams of content, primarily subtitles and captions, from an authoring or playout system via a controlled network to an encoder whose output is intended for wider distribution. It makes use of a system model including nodes, sequences and streams. The primary use case is the transfer of live subtitles and captions within a broadcast or media preparation environment. This document is an abridged version of [EBU-TT-Live-1-0] where normative information has been removed. These extensions are based on [EBU-TT-Live-1-0] developed by EBU and benefit from technical consensus and implementation experience gathered there. # Status This section describes the status of this document at the time of its publication. Other documents may supersede this document. A list of current W3C publications and the latest revision of this technical report can be found in the W3C technical reports index at https://www.w3.org/TR/. This document was published by the Timed Text Working Group as a Working Group Note. GitHub Issues are preferred for discussion of this specification. This document is governed by the 1 March 2019 W3C Process Document. # Link to group's decision to request transition I could not find a proper resolution in any TTWG minutes for publication if this draft to FPNote. There is a resolution for the 2 FPWD for Live extension, but it does not say clearlly about this draft FPNote. "RESOLVED: go to FPWD for the Live extension module and the carriage mechanism after resolving current open issues" https://www.w3.org/2019/09/18-tt-minutes.html#x14 I guess these 3 documents (Live extension module , the carriage mechanisms and Live Extensions Guide) should be published the same day. I will investigate with the TTWG. I also believe that the title is wrong and shoul be changed to "TTML Live Extensions Guide 1" as per issue https://github.com/w3c/tt-module-live/issues/5 So the draft may not be yet ready for publication. # Information about implementations known to the Working Group N/A
