Hi all, I’ve been trying to go through all the old issues to see what substantive issues we still need to discuss on TCS. In doing so, I’ve found that the considerable majority of open issues are no longer relevant as the questions they raised have been subsumed into other issues. Therefore, I propose to close the following issues without discussion. Please let me know if you object because you think there are unresolved substantive questions raised by a particular issue. ISSUE-22 (“operational use” of data) — This has been subsumed by the specific permitted uses. http://www.w3.org/2011/tracking-protection/track/issues/22 ISSUE-73 (outsourcing) — This issue was subsumed by our discussion of service providers. http://www.w3.org/2011/tracking-protection/track/issues/73 ISSUE-132 (intermediaries modifying DNT) — This issue was addressed in the TPE specification. http://www.w3.org/2011/tracking-protection/track/issues/132 ISSUE-133 (breadth of party) — This issue was addressed in our definition of the term “party.” http://www.w3.org/2011/tracking-protection/track/issues/133 ISSUE-163 (ensuring user agents don’t twist a user preference) — This issue was addressed in our discussion of user agent requirements. http://www.w3.org/2011/tracking-protection/track/issues/163 ISSUE-177 (specify compliance requirements for software and hardware other than a user agent) — This issue was addressed in the TPE specification and our decision on user agent requirements in TCS. http://www.w3.org/2011/tracking-protection/track/issues/177 ISSUE-191 (non-normative discussion of de-identification) — This issue has been subsumed in our discussion of deidentification under ISSUE-188. http://www.w3.org/2011/tracking-protection/track/issues/191 ISSUE-198 (red, yellow, green) — Subsumed by our discussion of deidentification under ISSUE-188. http://www.w3.org/2011/tracking-protection/track/issues/198 ISSUE-213 (partial compliance) — Subsumed by our discussion of TSVs in the compliance document. http://www.w3.org/2011/tracking-protection/track/issues/213 ISSUE-216 (contractual relationships and branding) — This issue was addressed by our definition of parties. http://www.w3.org/2011/tracking-protection/track/issues/216 ISSUE-224 (user choice) — This issue was addressed in TPE and our decision to remove user agent requirements from TCS. http://www.w3.org/2011/tracking-protection/track/issues/224 ISSUE-231 (general purposes for permitted uses) — This issue is being addressed in our discussion of deidentification. http://www.w3.org/2011/tracking-protection/track/issues/231
