Switching communication from Gitter to Slack

All,

we are switching our instant communication to Slack from Gitter. You can sign up for the workspace at http://bit.ly/w3c-disttracing. Why are we doing this:


  *   Better support for chat across devices
  *   Ability to use channels to separate topics
  *   Indicator of who is online and available
  *   Generally more stable platform
  *   Better ability for automation e.g. GitHub notifications.
  *   Support for video and voice conferencing

For most of the participating organization Slack is also a platform they are using daily already anyways so this should make the switch very easy.
