nigelmegitt has just created a new issue for https://github.com/w3c/webvtt: == Wide Review Comment 2017: Metadata delimiters == Copy/paste from https://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-tt/2017Sep/0080.html - raising as an issue for tracking/disposition purposes. The lack of delimiters on metadata is restrictive – it means that data structures cannot be placed in metadata blocks without first checking that they do not contain text that would be interpreted by a processor as cue text. Then if they do contain such text, there is no defined escaping mechanism to work around it. We capture metadata about the production process of subtitle and caption files within those files, for internal re-use – that appears to be impossible with WebVTT in a general way now, though could be addressed by means of delimiters, escaping mechanisms etc. Please view or discuss this issue at https://github.com/w3c/webvtt/issues/380 using your GitHub account
