Hi all, It's time to take a look at the WebVTT spec again. We're currently addressing the wide review comments (specifically tagged) received from the TTWG on our WebVTT spec, see https://github.com/w3c/webvtt/issues . Some PRs have been proposed. One particular PR introduces named colors - this would be useful for replicating CEA608/708 functionality as well as other captioning standards, including the European standards. However, we could instead simply specify what CSS colors are supported in the STYLE section of the file and then leave the naming of classes for colors to the user. I'm very curious about your feedback on this PR/issue: https://github.com/w3c/webvtt/pull/395 and https://github.com/w3c/webvtt/issues/365 Also, please provide feedback on the other open PRs: https://github.com/w3c/webvtt/pulls Even if it's just a "+1" - we need to get CG buy-in. We aim to resolve the Wide Review comments by 6th November for the W3C TPAC meeting, so any help you can provide with comments and even PRs would be really useful. Thanks for any and all help! Cheers, Silvia.
