https://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=28408 Bug ID: 28408 Summary: [WebVTT] Consider reorganising the Rendering section Product: TextTracks CG Version: unspecified Hardware: PC OS: All Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: WebVTT Assignee: dave.null@w3.org Reporter: silviapfeiffer1@gmail.com QA Contact: public-texttracks@w3.org CC: philipj@opera.com, silviapfeiffer1@gmail.com Andreas Tai wrote: "It is an interesting approach to provide different sections to different target groups (e.g. WebVTT authors and WebVTT parser implementers) so they do not have to read the complete spec. My experience is (after reading different versions of WebVTT) that even for a specific task it is difficult to get the necessary information without reading through the complete spec." Specifically, we encourage authors to focus on the Syntax section and ignore the Parsing section, which targets implementers. Yet, the Rendering section is a mix that both target groups have to read with different needs. It might be worth pulling that section apart into a "Styling syntax" section and keep the remainder as "Rendering Process". The "Styling syntax" would go before the Parsing section - could even be part of the "Syntax" section. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the QA Contact for the bug.
